Baisakhi at TLS Rohtak: Colour, Craft and Culture

Some festivals are best understood with your hands, not just your ears — and that's exactly how TLS Rohtak marked Baisakhi this year.

The celebration opened with a session on the festival's cultural and historical roots, before the campus turned into a full sensory experience: festive décor, live folk music, and a lineup of hands-on activities that had students making traditional crafts, drawing Baisakhi-themed artwork, designing colourful kites, and building miniature dhols of their own.

It's the kind of celebration that does double duty — students had fun, and without quite realising it, absorbed a genuine appreciation for one of India's most vibrant regional traditions. By the end of the day, the smiles said more than any lesson plan could.

Baisakhi at TLS Rohtak wasn't a one-off performance for an audience. It was a full day of unity, gratitude, and togetherness — exactly what the festival is meant to represent.
