“Today's Learners, Tomorrow's Leaders”: TLS Rohtak's Debate Competition for Forms 6–8

When students debate, they don't just speak — they learn to think sharper, listen deeper, and lead with confidence. That was the idea behind TLS Rohtak's Debate Competition for Forms 6 to 8, aimed squarely at building critical thinking, communication, and the confidence to hold a position in front of a room.

Students took part in structured debates on age-appropriate, relevant topics. Through preparation and presentation, they built real skills in research, logical reasoning, public speaking, and teamwork — and picked up something less obvious along the way: how to understand a perspective they didn't personally hold and still argue it with conviction.

The competition ran on healthy competition and sportsmanship. Participants learned to listen attentively, respond thoughtfully, and respect differing opinions, while teachers guided preparation and a panel of judges assessed performance on content, delivery, teamwork, and use of language.

It's the kind of activity where the scoreboard matters less than the habit it builds — and Forms 6 to 8 left with a good head start on both.
