Debate competitions do more than fill an afternoon with argument — they nurture public speaking, encourage logical reasoning, and build empathy by challenging students to genuinely see an issue from more than one side. Done well, they shape the kind of leaders who can express themselves clearly, respectfully, and persuasively.
TLS recently hosted an exhilarating Debate Competition for students of Forms 9 to 11, bringing together sharp minds, strong voices, and genuinely well-formed perspectives. The event was a true showcase of intellect, confidence, and critical thinking under a bit of real pressure.
